Premium Road Transport
Growing up, our family was heavily involved with breeding & exhibiting dogs, cats & horses. I myself have been a member of Dogs NSW for over 20 years, and our family prefix 'Argowan' has been registered since the 1970's.
We have owned and operated a boarding kennel & cattery as well as having run an agistment property and rehabilitation centre for injured horses.
I spent several years living in the USA, handling show dogs professionally while also transporting both clients' and our own dogs around the country, both in large vans and in a 38ft motorhome. I have extensive experience driving large vehicles with animals on board.
With over 30 years experience of breeding and owning Sighthounds, I understand the unique challenges that these breeds can present.
We are predominately a door to door service. We are happy to meet at a central meeting place for those that are outside of our normal routes.
All animals travel within our insulated & air conditioned Mercedes Sprinter van. We have a roof mounted, rear air-conditioning unit that runs on a separate system. The interior of the van is an open space from the cab area, so I can hear everyone on board and can also feel any changes in temperature.
We are fully insured, including for during transit. Our insurance is with QBE for up to 10 dogs, so we do not transport above this number.
F10 disinfectant is used on all surfaces, equipment and bedding.
We use dry bed and polar fleece blankets for bedding, as the little babies like to nest during their trip. Any tiled bedding is changed immediately, throughout the journey.
No puppies are placed on the bare ground during comfort stops. We travel with a C Crate (this is a folding wire enclosure that also has a roof), which is placed upon a tarp and then lined with training pads. We use a tarp as it can be placed on wet ground to keep puppies dry during wet weather and it can then be sprayed with F10 after each use.
Bottled spring water is supplied at all times.
Special diets & medication are able to be administered, including raw food.
All crates, carriers, bedding, food & water bowls plus all miscellaneous equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised with F10 after use.
We transport puppies, dogs, kittens & cats. We do not cater for poultry or other small animals e.g. rabbits.
Puppy packs, beds, food etc and all paperwork for the new owner, is welcome on board.
Puppies must be minimum 8 weeks of age. Small toy breeds have special requirements and this will be discussed before booking. Photos of vaccination certificate and date of birth must be produced prior to travel.
Kittens must be minimum 8 weeks of age. Photos of vaccination certificate and date of birth must be produced prior to travel.
Special request transport available e.g. breeding bitches or queens, travelling to a stud male.
Special request of single animal transport is available.
We have an extended height PP70 & a PP90 sized crate available, however they do not travel permanently in the van, so will need to be by prior arrangement.
Within NSW, a typical range of routes covers Canberra, country regions e.g. Dubbo, Mudgee, Bathurst, Coonabarabran, Forbes etc. We also travel through Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Western Sydney Region and the Southern Highlands.
Travel to Newcastle/Hunter Region/Central Coast upon request.
Travel to the NSW South Coast upon request.
Our NSW to VIC route can include Bendigo, Ballarat, Melbourne, Greater Melbourne, Geelong, Warragul & some regional areas. We have COVIDSafety Business Plans and current border permits. Darcy Dogs is registered as a COVIDSafe Business.
Within Victoria, as per current regulations, we request for everyone to wear a mask and practice social distancing where possible. If you feel unwell, please do not come out to the van. You will need to arrange another person to receive your pet.
We are able to help with connections northbound to NSW Mid & North Coast and QLD, both road and flights. We only work with transporters that we know personally and would trust with our own dogs.
We can collect animals from Canberra airport and then transport via road to Victoria.
We are also able to bring animals up from Victoria for them to fly out of Canberra. This service includes short term boarding prior to lodging at the airport.
